Today, I start the change I want to see.

"Statement of Faith

Faith, as defined by Webster’s is 1: belief without proof; confidence; reliance, 2: believe in God, 3: loyalty; fidelity to an agreement of promise, 4: a religious creed.

Basically, I am a believer of Christ, as such as am a Christian and a Roman Catholic to be specific. I believed in the Mystery of the Holy Trinity. I believe in one God in three divine persons—God the father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

I believed that God created us into his image and likeness and that in his eyes we are all equal, regardless of our looks, position and whatever strata of society we belong. I believe that other than the fundamental rights provided for in our constitution we too have our inherent rights to self-determination in our pursuit to happiness and the right to self-preservation. Not only that we must have equal access but more importantly, I believe that we must have equal protection of the Law. As the saying goes and I quote those who have in life must have more in law unquote. This undoubtedly is in conjunction with the biblical saying when God said “Whatever you do to the least of my brethren, you do it unto me”.

Yes, as true Christian, we must help reach out–help enlighten and educate our less fortunate fellowmen; help find ways and means to alleviate their sad plight; help the find their place under the sun; help find meaning in their lives; help them establish their goals in life and eventually help them in the attainment of same: we must not be indifferent and apathetic to their need. We must get involve in the concerted effort for economic recovery especially now that the world is facing global economic crisis.

Initially, we can greatly contribute to this effort by fully exercising our rights with utmost prudence in selecting our leaders– leaders who do not only have professional competence, but one who has the moral integrity and the moral ascendancy to lead. Leaders who does not once think of ______ themselves and preparing for the next election but one who will work hard for the betterment of the living conditions of our fellowmen, the conservation of the _____, and the eradication or graft and corruption. Then and only then can we look forward for a better world to live in. Those I firmly believe."

Those blank spaces are words I can vaguely read, my grandfather's handwriting is messy. Too messy even for me, who has been so used in reading letters and prescriptions from doctors, couldn't read them anymore.
