Reading people is a talent. It takes a lot of courage and a lot of insight. Do not take this literally because to read a person is through his or her actions: actions that manifest a certain degree of knowledge, specific attitudes and alliterating problems of an individual. For example, a person who is bound to leave would be jittery either of anxiety or excitement. With this situation, you have to evaluate whether the person is looking forward to something or otherwise. Through thorough examination of the circumstances, you will then make a sound guess often accurate than it is not. Most of the time, we call this as psychic abilities. This is rather a form of social connection. There are various methods on how to read a person but I will, as much as I can, read a person through either his work in the field of journalism.
Papa's Table.
The wonderful memories of a father written in such brevity about his sons, who are now living their individual lives far away from home. Ranging from his youngest son's flight to his eldest son's MA, this clean column will give you an impression that the writer behind this is a loving father who does not hesitate in showing it. He is an understanding father judging on how he showers his sons with praises regardless of the history behind their actions. The writer gives us a glimpse of his personality within a family setting. This person isn't that difficult to read because he lays it out and gives his point straight to you, adding elaborate details on necessary points.
Kuya's Chair.
A version of Papa's Table that will be most likely be read by teenagers. The spike that the writer gives to the article is much appreciated by younger audience since he is of our generation. Biased to my personal knowledge, reading the writer behind this column won't be that difficult. Evident in every paragraph, phrase per phrase, that he is a deviant from the norm but stays within the boundaries of reality. He doesn't give much amplification to his article unlike his father. He would rather make us, teens; understand what it really means without all the flowery details. You would not be surprised if his articles would manifest child-like attitudes because he is young at heart.
Dancing to the Rhythm
This is of the pieces upheld by great syntax of the English language. His stiff character reflects his use of language. The writing style of the author often connotes his headstrong opinions disregarding outlook of others which are equally valuable as his. Undermined by his refute, he often finds himself confused in his articles. With this, I conclude that he searches within himself the true meaning. The regularity in his discussions of sexuality is a proof of his real self. He often denies in most of his articles and subjects himself to no other than criticism to himself. His lack self control often shows through his article.
Gaining in the Loss
Most of the time, the writer is not aware that a number or people are actually concluding even from her first statement. It reflects her impulsiveness to write even withstanding the depth of an article. The author's dominance can be seen through her suppression of her own article. It is evident that she takes the reins into her own hands but eventually loses control over herself. Her vulnerability is unbearable to the extent that even halfway through the article, it gets messed up by too-personal views: views in which she showers herself merely of praises; in which she loses herself into.
En route
A point taken from a view whose walk of life is more diverse than that of traveler. Conclusion , in which he never forgets to close in, a fact that most writers often forgets. A consideration from any pun has been avoided. Absence of bluffs in his articles often connotes his frank yet sincere attitude. The article may not be pointed towards you, specifically, but the writer is articulate enough to cover a person from another. He is careful with his word play but strong enough to deter any misconduct. A man of wisdom and depth is seen throughout his article. A man who did not come clean and stepped on your identity but one who told you to change for the betterment of everybody, so to say.
The Aristotlean Telescope
A style mostly rejected by people because of its complex usage of words. It gives you a system overload in which you are left reading over and over a part of the text to give it meaning. Multi-talented in the English language, he uses this advantage to ride up to an intensity more described as out of this world. The writer reveals himself as knowledgeable yet intimidating to the majority. Although his strength and dominance surfaces in his usage of words, it seen that every point he takes has a deeper meaning. He tries to lay it out but when he does, the more he confuses the target audience. His audacity does not falter from one article to another thereby showing us that he can stand up for his opinion no matter how the majority understands it.
Much has been discussed by a friend of mine and I about articles in our college paper, from the technical stuff to the prose of the writers itself. This didn't exactly mattered until I was prompted by my mentor to respond and review about the articles I've been telling him, whether it was through complaint or praise. He just wouldn't settle for less than a verbal argument but rather a written one.
I am still hesitant to write about people I barely knew in the same community. I want to ask permission from them because it is awkward for me to write about them and their articles without their permission, simple as that. But an open dialogue from someone who worked with and for the paper led me to decide that I should write, react and discuss their articles vocally. This person experienced and disproved of the system inside the publication. Most of those who were never or had limited experience in publication would seldom notice the changes occurring in a newspaper.
